Training Experience
I have been working in recreation and fitness since 1990. I began my career as a swimming and water exercise instructor and then worked as a personal trainer at various health clubs. I have worked with a broad range of clients. I have guided many clients through lifestyle changes and successful weight loss. I have assisted many seniors who have build strength, fitness and balance beyond their expectations. I have helped develop and prepare youth athletes for sports. Since 1999 I have focused on sports specific training and coaching competitive cyclists. I have worked with beginning cyclists just learning to pedal, as well as master and elite athletes competing for national championships. I have also coached sprint distance to Ironman triathletes as well as ultra-distance cyclists competing in the Race Across America.
Personal Fitness Background
I have been competing locally and nationally as a bicycle racer since 1993. I competed as a swimmer for 13 years and occasionally I compete in triathlons. I have been actively involved in many other organized sports (baseball, basketball, football, tennis, soccer, tae kwon do) throughout my life. Outdoor activity has always been a part of my life and I enjoy enjoying camping, hiking, skiing, and other recreational activity whenever I can.
Training Philosophy
I believe that human potential is unimaginable. We should strive for optimum health and longevity through habitual lifestyle choices, such as regular exercise and quality nutrition.

Training Experience
I have been a full-time personal trainer for over ten years and I have dedicated my life to improving the health and well-being of my clients. Each person I have worked with has their own unique history with varying needs of which I endeavor to meet without judgment or criticism. Despite disparate backgrounds my clients are all bound by a few key attributes: the desire to succeed, the willingness to work beyond their comfort zone, and the faith instilled in me to help them realize their goals.
Personal Fitness Background
Working out to me is a way to maximize my health and subsequently my enjoyment of life and aging. I currently rely on strength training, multi-energy system depletion (Cross Fit), PNF stretching, High Intensity Interval Training, myofascial re
lease and yoga as well as a balanced and realistic nutritional approach to be as versatile, balanced, and mobile as possible.
Training Philosophy
My workouts can be condensed down to an emphasis on proper form, an efficient and logical progression of exercises given the restraint of time, and a constant manipulation of stimuli to prevent boredom and stagnation.
The current accepted statistic is that 85% of all chronic disease is based on activity and diet. Exercise is medicine.
Specialties
Attention, efficiency, empathy, results.

Training Experience
My initial interest in fitness started through work with individuals recovering from injuries. I am a certified Physical Therapist from Columbia with over 18 years of experience. I’ve run a Therapy practice in Columbia as well as Switzerland and recently after moving to the United States have become very interested in the fitness field.
After receiving my Personal Training Certificate from Northern Virginia Community College I decided to take my experience into the health and fitness industry to help individuals with a variety of goals. The PT program gave me the valuable knowledge and hands on experience needed to broaden my ability to assist a wider range of clients in their pursuit of greater health and fitness.
Personal Fitness Background
Growing up, I enjoyed playing sports and being active.
I refocused my energies towards pursuing fitness and personal training as a career goal.

There is nothing that can’t be accomplished without a little hard work and a good attitude!
